What Our Customers Think

We are blessed with many loyal customers - both locals and visitors who come to Morro Bay regularly. Below are what some of the customers have had to say about the Coffee Pot.

From the Urban Spoon:
Hannah Smallwood: We stopped in Morro bay on our way to Monteray and decided to eat here for a late breakfast/early lunch/ brunchy kind of thing; such a good idea! The eggs were cooked wonderfully and the potatoes were delicious! And the waffles! Don't even get me started! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and cloud-like inside! With a little syrup, it made a delicious bite. All-in-all, a gem of a restaurant that shouldn't be overlooked!
Silvia Flint: Had breakfast at the Coffee Pot with relatives from Panama on a trip down Hwy 1. Green chili omelet was delicious. Pancakes were yummy. Service was great. The girl serving us was awesome. She kept our coffee cups filled.

The owner at the coffee pot went above and beyond the 'call of duty.' I forgot my purse at the restaurant and didn't realize it until I was in Solvang. The owner shipped my purse to my house the same day and it arrived the following day. That's what I call SERVICE.
Thank you Coffee Pot!!!!

Sunny C.: Last Tuesday my boyfriend and I made your restaurant our first stop for breakfast on our trip up the Coast. I was feeling very blue and sad over something that morning. We'd ordered and were sitting enjoying our coffee when all of a sudden you came up to me and gave me the gift of one of your Coffee Pot mugs....and, best of all, you gave me a good tight hug. I will use that coffee mug forever and will always treasure that memory of a hug when I very much needed one!

p.s. I ordered your book this morning.

Christina Y: Quaint diner along Morro Bay. Service was quick and friendly.  Morro Bay Benedict and Belgium waffle was the rave for our group. Corn beef hash (of any sort) is a staple for me when I dine for brunch, so my review on the Benedict is a bit biased.  The waffle was light, crisp, and oh so good!   No need for fruit on top since it was a nice "dessert" after the Benedict. :D -- 5 Stars --
Brad W: Great food and people. Breakfast menu had a lot to choose from and delivered on deliciousness. You have to try a waffle, even if it's on the side, very good. Next time I'm down the coast I will make it a point to come back.
Daniel D: My wife and I came here last Thanksgiving and were favorably impressed. This trip duplicated the experience.

The price is excellent. We were both able to eat for around $25. Hard to beat for a sit down breakfast.

The food is simple, but delicious. My wife had a Belgian waffle and I had the nutty French toast. Her Belgian waffle was about what she had expected, but had fresh strawberries since they were in season. My nutty French toast was different than I was expecting. I was thinking it would be something like banana bread coated in nuts then cooked. That was not what I got. I had also thought it might be French toast with a crispy shell of nuts on the outside topped with bananas. Also wrong. What I received was French toast with bananas, nuts, and cinnamon atop the basic French toast beneath. If I have given the impression that the dish was disappointing, that is entirely wrong. The French Toast was perfectly cooked (not soggy inside, as often seems to be the case) and the bananas were fresh and ripe. --4 Stars--

The owner, as has been stated oft by other reviewers, is really the jewel of the restaurant. He is polite, friendly, and genuinely concerned that everyone who comes to his place has an experience that makes you want to come back. The servers are sometimes lack-luster, but I am a rather harsh critic when it comes to servers. If my glass goes empty and stays that way for more than a few minutes, the service has dropped in my estimation. My glass went empty a few times and either my wife or I had to request a refill each time.

Am I a fan of this place? Most definitely. Will I come back? Very likely indeed. Do I recommend it? If you want some breakfast inexpensive breakfast but don't want to go through a McDonalds or somesuch - visit this place and see what you think. -- 4 Stars --
